Once you have decided to join GIA, you will meet with our Admissions Team. During the admission and intake process, we will ask you some demographic, mental health, and medical questions. This will help us understand who you are and learn about your unique needs and goals. The questions can be completed in person, over a telehealth video conference, or over the phone – whichever you prefer.

The only paperwork you will need is one form of ID (a driver’s license, a passport, etc.), and the information of your insurance card, if applicable.
Our major goal is to get to know you and become your partners in your mental wellness journey. The more information you would like to share, the better we can get to know you. So, you are welcome to bring any pertinent medical documents from past or present providers that you would like to share with us. However, this is not required.

Yes! We encourage everyone to bring whomever they feel comfortable with to their admission and treatment visits, at any stage of their journey.

Yes, we do accept walk-in appointments. However, we strongly recommend that you call us to schedule a free consultation. This will help avoid any extended wait times.

We accept cash, credit cards and personal checks.

Currently we are only accepting Out-of-Network benefits. Please contact our team at 833-713-0828 for further information. We also offer internal payment plans and financing options (see below). Please note that we do not take Medicaid/Medicare at this time.

At GIA we are pleased to offer our clients an internal payment plan for up to 3 months at no cost, with a credit card on file. We also offer our clients financing options through a trusted third party vendor.

Yes, we offer several concierge packages. At GIA, concierge means that you will have our undivided, unrushed attention and we will work with you to create a highly personalized treatment program. Our packages include comprehensive assessments and recommendations that are tailored to your individual needs and goals. During the free consultation, we will take the time to sit down with you, explain our programs and concierge packages in detail, and answer any questions you may have.

This all depends upon your unique needs and goals for your individual wellness journey. Some clients may want to join GIA for a few weeks to one month, others may want to keep coming back for a year. Based on comprehensive assessments, we will recommend what we believe to be an optimal program length for you. We will work with you to tailor the program to accommodate your schedule and preferences.

Yes! We offer mental health education for families and friends as well as family and relationship therapy sessions when they are clinically appropriate.

Yes, we do! Several members of our team, including our clinical director and our TMS director speak Spanish.

At this time we do not offer residential programs. However, we are always happy to share a list of nearby centers who offer a residential level of care. We will also coordinate with any center you wish should you want to pursue treatment at GIA following a residential program.

Yes, our parking garage entrance is on the 15th street, opposite to Adrienne Arsht Center Metro Station. Parking costs $6 per day with our client discount.

Yes! Our Concierge Clinical Coordinator will help with fulfilling all of your needs.

Yes. At GIA, we can provide the diagnostic component only, which includes a psychological evaluation, medical/neurological evaluation and bloodwork as well as a psychiatric evaluation. If you have started your treatment program at GIA and need to continue elsewhere, we are happy to work with you to identify new providers and/or work with your next provider to help you get the care you need and deserve.

While we do not provide home visits at this time, we do offer most of our services via telehealth.


Anyone is eligible to receive TMS, except clients who may have metallic implants inside their head (but piercings, dental fillings, etc. are safe). We will work with you to ensure you are eligible for TMS and create a personally tailored TMS program for your unique needs and goals.

Several clinical studies have shown that TMS is effective in helping people with depression, OCD, and smoking. TMS can also be very helpful in relieving anxiety and reducing substance use and craving (such as for cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, and cannabis). Many of our clients have also reported sleeping better, memory improvements, increased attention and concentration, and more energy after receiving TMS.

TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. TMS involves small magnets that generate tiny magnetic pulses that are applied over the hair to the scalp. There is no damage to the hair whatsoever. We always use a special navigator to determine the best placement of the magnets to the head. Once applied, the magnetic pulses pass through the head and into the brain, where they can gently coordinate and improve neural activity.

The TMS director, who administers all TMS treatments at GIA, is a medical doctor with decades of experience.

Yes. TMS is an FDA-approved for depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and smoking cessation. It is also effective as an ‘off-label’ treatment for many other psychiatric conditions. We will work with you to determine the best protocol and treatment program for your individual needs and goals.

There are no lasting side effects. In the beginning, some clients may feel mild scalp discomfort, a headache, and muscle twitching. These symptoms usually subside within a couple of hours on their own.

The length of the TMS sessions depend upon the treatment program that we have tailored for you. They are typically between 2 and 20 minutes, one to two times per day.

This depends upon your individual needs and goals. While we typically recommend about 30 sessions in total, we will work with you to accommodate your schedule and preferences.

When you first start TMS treatment, we will recommend that you come in every day (Monday through Friday) in the first week. After that, we will ask you to visit one to two times per week. We will always work with you to accommodate your schedule and timing preferences for your visits.

No. TMS is non-invasive and does not require any anesthesia or sedation. Clients are fully awake and conscious during and after the treatment. After the TMS session clients are free to go about their day. There is no recovery time necessary.

This all depends upon your unique situation and wellness journey. Some of our clients will notice improvements within the first few days. However, it usually takes 3-4 weeks for clients to see long-lasting, positive changes.

Not at all! TMS involves the use of magnets. TMS is a non-invasive stimulation that gently changes brain activity. TMS does not require anesthesia or sedation, and does not have any of the negative side effects that are associated with ECT like seizures or memory loss.

Yes! After your TMS treatments you can continue to drive your car and go about your day without interruption or downtime.
